David and Nicole | Proposal Story

A few weeks ago, my younger brother David proposed to his girlfriend Nicole, and I was privileged enough to be there to photograph it! I can't tell you how excited I was to secretly document this special moment for them. My brother is the only boy in our family of five sisters, so we have all been looking forward to the day when we would know who our ONE sister-in-law would be! I know I speak for my whole family when I say we have a special place in our hearts for David, and it gives us such joy to see him at his happiest with Nicole.

It has been beautiful to see their story unfold and how the Lord is working in their lives. Although they originally started dating in their early college years, things didn't quite work out when Nicole left for two years of school in Ohio. Although it seemed like maybe they weren't meant to be... God was working deeply in their hearts and growing them in ways they both needed on their own.

As time went by and Nicole's graduation approached, she and David reconnected and started talking again. They decided to try and spend time together when she came home to see if they could pick up where they left off. Before we knew it, they were dating again and growing in their relationship more than ever before. It was clear that the Lord had been forming them for each other while they were apart and their relationship now had a newfound purpose.

David and Nicole truly bring out the best in each other, and their desire to grow in holiness has been so beautiful to witness. A few months ago, they decided to pray the 33 day consecration to The Blessed Mother together. David and Nicole prayed together faithfully every day and on the last day of the consecration, on the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary... my brother got down on one knee and asked Nicole to be his wife.

Both of our families were watching from behind a bush around the corner and were all screaming with joy when they were finally able to come out and congratulate them! (After we all cried happy tears, of course.)

David bought eleven different bouquets of flowers to place at the feet of our lady that day, with sunflowers (Nicole's favorites) right in the middle.

Congratulations Davie and Nicole! We love you both so much and can't wait for your wedding next year!!
