It was a cloudy, blustery day but the weather calmed down just in time for my session with the Custode family. I had so much fun photographing them all together and seeing how their family has grown. Theres nothing quite like the joy of grandparents with their little grand-babies. Little baby Noah was so smiley and easy going that he truly made my job easy, but I loved that I could relate to little Julianna running around and not wanting to hold still for a posed photo. Having my own toddler (and a wild one at that) has really helped me come up with a new approach to family sessions with little ones. Instead of trying to convince little Julianna to just sit and smile, I encouraged her to play and explore while I followed her with my camera. She was so much happier picking up pinecones and finding leaves... that the photos are much more true to a two year olds stage of life.
I love seeing and documenting so many sweet moments between families just interacting with each other. My hope is not only that these photos will make beautiful Christmas cards... but more importantly that they will remain cherished memories for families in years to come.
