My younger sister got married over the summer and I was lucky enough to be a bridesmaid and photograph some of her special day. (Thanks to some of our sweet friends Alyse and Sarah for helping photograph the ceremony and reception!)
Brianna and Paul were married at St. Martha Catholic church and the reception was held in our parents backyard. It took many months of hard work and planning, but it turned out more beautiful than we all imagined. There was something so special about celebrating our sister's marriage in the place we grew up, and everyone pitching in to make it possible. Dancing and celebrating with family and friends in our home was an experience I'll never forget.
We are so happy to have Paul as a brother-in-law and a permanent member of our family now. It's still crazy to think that one of my baby sisters is already off and married, (feeling a little old over here... ha!) but we are all so happy for them both and can't wait to see what the Lord has planned for their life together.
As Brianna's something borrowed, I passed down these little charms that our cousin Megan had given me for my bouquet on my wedding day. They each represent a grandparent up in heaven, the flowers for our Poppy and the other for our Grandma that had a special love for Winnie the Pooh. It was so sweet to see them again, this time on her bouquet.
(Thank you Sarah for this behind the scenes shot of me and Bri!)
Big shout out to my mom and sisters for all the amazing decorations. And to my parents (and to Michael and my brother David and Brother-In-Law Joe) who worked tirelessly on the backyard to make it wedding-ready. Everything turned out so perfect and beautiful. The entire day was overflowing with love poured out for Brianna and Paul to make their day special.
Their adorable cake was made by our sister Felicity, the official baker of our family. Brianna is gluten free so it was made special just for her and Paul. The rest of us ate all of those yummy little bundtletts from Nothing Bundt Cakes and delicious cookies made from our dear friend Maureen at Em's Cookie Kitchen.
Those adorable fudge heart favors were also made by our sweet Grammy and have been a tradition so far at each of our weddings.
Fun fact about that garter right there... that was the one I wore on my wedding day and that Paul caught when Michael tossed it at our wedding reception! I even went back and found the photo from our wedding to prove it ;)
Oh and see these two down there? That's my brother and his (then) girlfriend. They're engaged now... more on that to come soon ;)
Michael also served double duty as a groomsmen and DJ for the night. I swear, this kid can do it all. He was so amazing and did such a great job! You never would have known it was his first DJ gig.
We love you Brianna and Paul!
